Our Journey

In 1966, Mr Ronald D. Hall opened the doors of Automation Inc., a West Hartford-based company that he and WIlliam J. Hunt co-founded to service the area's machine tool, construction, and transit industries. They started the business with two main product lines: Weatherhead hydraulic hose, fittings, and Lincoln Industrial lubrication equipment.

Today, some 50-plus years after opening its doors, Automation Inc. continues to feature the Weatherhead and Lincoln product lines, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication products from over 70 other name brand vendors.

Robert Dodge began his career at Automation in 1988, fresh out of American International College. Mr. Dodge started in the warehouse and worked his way up through the company in the positions of inside sales, outside sales, and sales manager, and then appointed by Mr. Hall to vice president of sales and marketing.

In 2015, Mr. Hall retired after 49 years, and Bob Dodge became owner and President of Automation Inc. Under the tutelage of Bob, Automation Inc. has increased its territory to include New England and Upstate New York. As a leading distributor of Lincoln/SKF, Graco, and other lubrication systems, they offer their great customer service and product lines throughout their territories.

Automation Inc. has earned many achievements over the years, including being the recipient of Lincoln Industrials "Distinguished Distributor Award" seven times. In addition; they have received the "Distributor of the Year Award", the "Superior Performance Award' and the "Superior Achievement Award" from Eaton/Weatherhead.


Bob Dodge

President & Owner

Bob has over 30+ years of knowledge and experience in the Lubrication system industry. Recognized as an automated lubrication specialist, having received years of certificates and training from major equipment manufacturers. You can still find Bob in the trenches installing or servicing equipment in the field. When he isn't training the next generation (his grandchildren).


Stephanie Dodge

Vice President & Account Coordinator

Stephanie has been with Automation since 2015. She wears many hats in her roles with automation. Streamlining everything so that the policies and procedures are in place while making sure all our employees' needs are met.



Business Development Manager

Peter has been with Automation since 2017. He brings years of sales experience and product knowledge. Peter's ability to listen to our customer's needs and provide them with viable solutions makes him a valuable part of our team.



Parts Customer Service Counter

Micah has been with Automation for over 30+ years!

Micah runs our customer service counter. He manages the warehouse, shipping, and receiving. He is the face of Automation, and our customers all rely on his knowledge and expertise.



Executive Secretary

Debbie has been with Automation for 20+ years and is the voice of Automation. She handles all inside sales, invoicing, and customer service and, quite frankly handles all the problems at Automation.



Customer Service, Purchasing Agent

Morgan has been with Automation since 2018. She is also an inside sales and purchasing agent, she also helps with accounts receivable and payables. Another of our friendly faces you will encounter at our customer service counter.



Project Coordinator & Inside Sales

Chris has been with Automation since early 2018. He is our project coordinator. His tasks include scheduling installation jobs, service work, managing jobs, and helping with customer service and inside sales. Chris is Bob's right hand.
